Communication Skills
Every relationship which is formed by school students is due to their ability to communicate well.

·       Effective communication-
·       Promotes Better understanding
·       Assist in resolving differences
·       Strengthens mutual trust and respect,
·       Flourish creative ideas

Even though communication appears relatively simple and straightforward, many relationships (personal and professional) result in failures mainly due to misunderstandings and misinterpretations
Think about the situation when you've said something to your best friend or cousin, and you were misunderstood.
Or imagine a situation when you were hurt because someone said something inappropriate.
That is why it becomes imperative to add communication skills to the school curriculum (Starting from the elementary level) as communication skills can make a massive difference in the quality of personal and professional relationships and can enhance social confidence.
Here are the top communication skills that are a must for school students
 1.  Body language
Body language speaks volumes, the way we stand, our facial expressions, our eyes, and our hand movements.  Body language produces a story and creates a very first impression. If body language is inappropriate, then the spoken words will lose their value (even if they are powerful). School students must be made aware of their body language
The knowledge of body language will help school students to-
·       Look straight in the eye of the person they are speaking to
·       Smile regularly and appropriately
·       Offer a firm handshake
·       Stand up straight
·       Form a positive posture

 2. Active listening Skills
Communication is not just limited to the usage of proper words and body language. Instead, it involves several other skills which include active listening.  Active listening is the art of hearing beyond the spoken words by paying complete attention to the message being shared. To improve the ability of students to influence and persuade others.

Active listening skills will help school students in their
•Social interactions
•Negotiations
•Personal and professional relationships
3. Conflict resolution
Conflicts are the result of resentment and misunderstandings and at times, activate stronger emotions. Conflicts are unavoidable and at times unpredictable. Conflicts can arise anywhere in the classroom among students, at home between siblings, in personal and professional relationships.  It is a must for school students to master the art of Conflicts resolution.
Conflict resolution skills will help students to
·       Respond in a calm, non-defensive, and respectful manner
·       control their emotions
·       Enhance their ability to compromise
·       Communicate their stand clearly
4. Emotional intelligence :
Emotional intelligence is the capability to comprehend, understand, and respond to the emotions of others. Emotional intelligence is crucial for effective communication.
By mastering emotional intelligence skills, school students can notice nonverbal signals from others, such as body language, facial expressions, and hand gestures. By decoding the expressed emotions (anger, sadness, excitement, fear, etc.), school students can frame their response accordingly.

Communication skills can help the school students to prepare for the world beyond high school and college. olympiad test
